Battery Wall Light with Remote

The Viego Co. Battery Wall Light is a cordless wall lamp with a fabric shade, built for walls with no wiring behind them. Unlike most battery sconces the bulb is removable rather than sealed in, so the light source can be swapped or upgraded instead of the whole fitting being thrown away when it fails.

The arm and backplate are aluminium in black or gold and the shade is fabric, which softens the output into the kind of light a plug-in table lamp gives rather than the hard edge of an LED panel. A remote sets brightness and steps through warm white and fifteen colour settings, and a touch switch on the body does the same job up close. The battery is rechargeable and the whole unit lifts off its bracket to charge. Because the shade is fabric it collects dust over time and should be brushed rather than wiped.

It fixes to the wall with the bracket supplied, which makes it practical in a rented flat, beside a bed, over a sofa or in a hallway. It is sold singly in black, or as a pair in black or gold for symmetrical placement either side of a headboard. Charge it every few weeks depending on nightly use.
