Battery Wall Sconce with Remote

The Viego Co. Battery Wall Sconce is a cordless wall light with a head that turns through a full 360 degrees, so the beam can be pointed at a book, a wall or a ceiling after it is mounted. It runs entirely on its own cell, which means no circuit behind the wall and no electrician.

The body is aluminium in black or gold. Inside sits a 4400mAh battery, large for a fitting of this size, which is what allows up to forty hours of use between charges and a three to five hour recharge over USB-C. The supplied remote works from up to eight metres and sets brightness anywhere from ten to one hundred per cent, steps between 3000 K, 4000 K and 6000 K, and runs an auto-off timer. A touch control on the body does the same job without the remote.

It fixes with a magnetic wall plate, screws or the adhesive pad, and lifts straight off for charging. That makes it practical for a bedside, a hallway, a stairwell or a rented room. It is sold singly or as a pair so a matched set can flank a headboard or a mirror. Charge it roughly every month under normal evening use.
