Motion Sensor Picture Light

The Viego Co. Motion Sensor Picture Light is a rechargeable wall light that throws an even wash across a framed picture, a shelf or a narrow hallway. A built-in motion sensor brings it on as someone passes and switches it off again once the room is still, so it can run unattended in a corridor or a stairwell without being left on all night.

The housing is moulded ABS in matte black or white, and the head rotates on its bracket so the beam can be aimed at the artwork rather than the wall. A lithium battery inside charges over USB-C, which means there is no cable running down the wall and no fitting work. Brightness and three colour temperatures are set by touch on the body or by the supplied remote. The LED is integrated and rated for the life of the fixture, so no bulb is ever sourced or changed.

It fixes with the adhesive pad supplied or with screws, and it lifts off the bracket to sit on a shelf or a table as a portable lamp. That suits a rented flat, a picture wall, a bookcase, a hallway or a dark landing where running mains cable is not practical. Recharge it every few weeks depending on how often the sensor triggers.
