Clean the woven shade with a dry soft brush or a vacuum brush head on low, working with the weave, and never wet natural fibre. Expect to do it more often than in a living room, and keep the pendant away from directly above a hob, since fibre holds cooking grease.

About this piece
This set is aimed squarely at the earlier end. A round handwoven bamboo pendant hangs low over the counter or the breakfast table and throws a patterned, softened light rather than the flat wash of a ceiling fitting, and a slotted wood wall rack takes the mugs off the shelf and puts them somewhere you can reach without opening a cupboard door.
The pendant is woven by hand, so the weave varies slightly from piece to piece and the shadow it casts does too. It takes a standard bulb, which means you choose the warmth: a low-wattage warm bulb for a nook, something brighter over a working counter. The rack mounts flat to the wall with multiple slots, and it holds mugs by the handle so a favourite one is never buried at the back of a stack.
