Solar Fence Spot Lights

The Viego Co. Solar Fence Spot Lights are small outdoor units that throw warm light both above and below themselves, which is what picks out the texture of a fence board, a deck rail or a step edge. They are sold in packs of two or four so a run can be spaced evenly along a boundary rather than lighting one spot.

Each unit is ABS with a lithium battery charged by the solar panel built into its face. A sensor brings them on at dusk and switches them off at dawn, so nothing needs setting once they are up. The rating is IP65, which covers rain and frost. Because each light is independent there is no wiring between them and no transformer, and one failing does not take the others with it.

Fixing takes two screws per unit and under three minutes, with no cable to bury and no supply to reach. They suit a garden fence, a deck, a set of steps, a shed wall or a path edge. Mount them where the panel sees daylight, and wipe the panels clean every few months so they keep charging fully. Nothing is buried, so the whole run can be moved later without any making good.
