Stained Glass Tiffany Table Lamp

The Viego Co. Stained Glass Table Lamp has a handmade shade built from hundreds of cut glass pieces, so what it puts on a side table is coloured light rather than a flat pool of white. Lit, the pattern reads across the wall and the ceiling as much as across the table.

Four patterns are offered: leaf, maple, rose and sakura blossom. The shade sits on a cast resin base and the lamp measures 20 cm across and 33.5 cm tall, with a 155 cm cord. A pull chain on the neck switches it, which is the traditional arrangement for a lamp of this kind and keeps the flex free of an in line switch. The holder is E27 and it accepts 110 to 240 V with a US plug. The bulb is not included, so the colour temperature is chosen by whoever fits it.

It suits a side table, a console, a reading corner or a desk, and it is the kind of piece that is usually given rather than bought. Dust the glass with a dry soft cloth, and lift the shade by its frame rather than by the glass panels, since the leadwork carries the weight and the panels do not.
