Vintage Rectangle Porch Wall Light

The Viego Co. Vintage Rectangle Porch Light is a hardwired wall light in a plain rectangular case, built to light a doorway, a garage entrance or a hallway rather than to be looked at. The frosted panel spreads the output evenly instead of throwing a hotspot, which is what makes it usable directly above a door.

The body is black ABS measuring 24.5 by 8.3 by 11 cm with a frosted front panel. Behind it sits a 25 W integrated LED producing 1370 lumens at a warm white 3000 K, which is bright for a fitting this size and enough to light a short path as well as the step. It accepts AC 185 to 265 V. The rating is IP33, meaning it resists dripping water but is not made for exposed weather.

Because of that IP33 rating it belongs under a porch roof, a canopy or an overhang rather than on an open wall. It also works indoors in a hallway, a utility room or a garage. Sold singly or as a pair for symmetrical placement either side of a door. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. The fixture is not dimmable, so pair it with a switched circuit rather than a dimmer.
