Wipe the wall clean and let the adhesive cure before hanging a sconce on its plate. Avoid freshly painted plaster and textured wallpaper. Lift each sconce off the plate magnetically to charge it over USB, then click it back into the same position.

About this piece
Which is why the last hour before sleep so often happens under a bulb that is far too bright for it. The Wind-Down Corner is built to replace that hour. It pairs two rechargeable magnetic wall sconces with a set of motion-sensor stair lights, so the room can drop from working light to resting light without anyone crossing the floor to reach a switch.
The sconces mount on an adhesive plate and lift off magnetically to charge, so there is no wiring, no drilling and no conversation with a landlord. Put them either side of the bed as reading lights, or above the chair in the corner you actually use.
The stair lights wake on movement at low brightness and go dark again on their own, so a trip to the bathroom at three in the morning never involves the main light.
Adhesive plates and rechargeable batteries mean nothing is drilled and nothing is left behind.
